Another week done at Manchester Compliance — and it’s been a busy one. Our engineers have been out across Manchester, Wigan and Liverpool carrying out EICRs, remedial works and emergency lighting testing for landlords and property managers throughout the region.

As always, our team came across plenty of challenges along the way. One job in Droylsden threw up a situation we see more often than you’d think — a leaking pipe had allowed water to track into the electrics. By the time we arrived, the water ingress had already caused damage to the installation. Our engineers carried out a full repair to the affected circuits, making everything safe and compliant again.
It’s a good reminder that electrical faults don’t always start with the electrics. Water damage, rodent interference and poor previous workmanship are some of the most common issues we find during EICR inspections. That’s why a thorough inspection matters — it’s not just about ticking boxes, it’s about finding the problems before they become dangerous.
